Vaccination and deworming of animals

Important animal health protection measures.

Through vaccination of pets, primarily dogs and cats, we decrease the possibility that many contagious diseases that can seriously endanger their life will appear. Through administration of vaccine into organism we administer deadened or weakened disease causative agent and in that way we encourage the organism to create antibodies that will protect the organism from the development of the same disease. Active antibodies are mostly created 10 to 14 days from when the vaccination took place and the period depends on the type of the vaccine, immune status, i.e. general state of health of the animal. So called immunization schedules depend on many factors and the most important is certainly age but they can be totally individual and depend on the general state of health of the animal.

Diseases against which dogs are vaccinated: rabies, canine distemper, contagious hepatitis, canine coronavirus, canine parvovirus, leptospirosis, kennel cough.

Diseases against which cats are vaccinated: rabies, feline panleukopenia, feline viral rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus, feline leukemia.

Getting rid of intestinal parasites from dogs and cats or as experts say it – dehelmintization is a crucial animal health protection measure and it is even more important when it comes to people. There are certain parasitic diseases which can be transmitted from dogs and cats to people including e.g. echinococcosis which are very dangerous and can endanger human life. It can be dangerous for the animal itself, and this especially refers to young animals, if they are infected with some of intestinal parasites. For abovementioned reasons it is necessary for dogs and cats to undergo regular removal of intestinal parasites and each owner is responsible for the protection their own health and the health of their pet as well as for the health of other people and animals.
