Diagnostic sonography is auxiliary diagnostic methods used in medicine which today takes one of the most significant places in veterinary medicine. It represents „golden standard” in diagnosing many diseases. It is completely non-invasive, quick and simple method where a two-dimensional image on the screen of the device is obtained in a real time period.
It enables us very precise measuring of sizes of organs and changes on them as well as measurements of speed of blood flow as well as many other measurements that are important for making a correct diagnosis. It is most frequently used for the check-up of internal organs (kidneys, liver, spleen, stomach, intestines, pancreas, urinary bladder, uterus and prostate…). This method is successfully used in diagnosing gravidity as well as in monitoring foetal development.
